“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain"-anonymous.
▬ ▬ ▬

Kibum was drenched. Drenched in all his sorrows and happiness;practically drenched in the rain. Cold drops hit every inch of his skin; soaking his clothes as he pranced around the field, wet grass tickled his bare feet. He spun and danced like the whole universe belonged to him; humming to the vivid music playing in his head, as clear as the sound of the rain gushing down from the sky.

He spun round and round, almost falling from the dizziness, only to land on a semi-solid surface; warm limbs encircling his cold waist. He tilted his head up and peeked through the curtain of wet strands of hair sticking on his face; almost lost in those deep brown eyes looking down to him.

"What are you doing?" The deep voice rumbled like a slow and soft thunder in the rain. Just like lightning; Kibum thought, wisp and quick and unexpected he came for him, only that this lightning brings you safe and comfort instead of the fear of getting electrified, this lightning shelters you from the rain. Minho pushed the wet bangs out of his face, giving Kibum the clear view of the most beautiful creature in the universe standing right there in front of him in the middle of the rain; his most favorite and beautiful weather just lost second to him.

Kibum laughed as he slowly pulled the umbrella from the younger boy's grasp, throwing it to the side. Minho stared at him; expression a confused mixture of utter disbelieve and annoyance and an urge to laugh. He tilted his head to a side and in seconds he too was drenched in the rain; drenched in all Kibum's sorrows and happiness.

"Let's dance together." Kibum pulled him closer as they ran and jumped and laughed and screamed; his laughter is the most beautiful thing in the world, Minho thought. For him, Kim Kibum is the most exquisite treasure in the world, and he'd do anything to protect Kibum from any harm. He vowed to protect him even if in the end he'd leave him high and dry; watching him in the sidelines in the arms of another person. He is, after all, Choi Minho's most expensive possession; the platinum key to his heart.

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain; Kibum thought helplessly as he finally fell into those arms, the rain seemed to drain the energy out of him. Their hearts beat simultaneously; the vague melody that was playing earlier in his head that was now replaced by that beat; slow and harmonized in a way that only both of them knew.

Minho rested his head on Kibum's, slowly inhaling a mixture scent of strawberry and the rain. He slowly ran his hands through Kibum's head; soft and loving, chuckling as his fingers got tangled in the wet mass of hair.

"We better get going. Your hair's a mess."

Kibum ran his own hands through his hair, face contorted in disgust as he felt the oily hair product spoiled by the rain.

"Stupid hairstylists. They say this product is waterproof!" Minho gave another hearty laugh before entwining his fingers around Kibum's, heading their way to their apartment. Kibum stopped walking and glanced behind.

"What's wrong?"

"Your umbrella."

Minho took a glace at his umbrella, lay forgotten in the middle of the field.

"I don't need it. I have you."

Just at that moment a loud thunder startled both of them; Kibum tightening his grasp in Minho's hand. Kibum sighed before turning back to Minho, "What did you say?"

Minho just smiled at him. "Nothing. Let's go home." Kibum raised his eyebrows at Minho; almost demanded for a repetition before deciding he'd just leave it for another day; he was completely exhausted from all the running.

Sunshine brings happiness after the rain. Kibum never really believed in that statement, because he knew his sunshine will always be with him; and the rain will always be his sorrows and happiness, and he's only bound to share them with this one and one person only-his sunshine in the rain.
