Remembrance Day.

Nov 11, 2010 17:15

He or she who this day commemorates was numbered among those who, at the call of Queen and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self-sacrifice. Giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom. Let those who come after see to it that his or her name be not forgotten.

Today we remember the veterans, the civilians and our former enemies of the War of 1812, the Boer War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Gulf War and the War in Afghanistan.

We should also remember those who have served as Canadian Peace Keepers, in Cyprus, Korea, Somalia, Rwanda, East Timor, Haiti and many others. Lest we forget.
