late to the party

wow. remember when I said weeks ago that I'd post about/over the holidays? I had a nearly completed saved draft of it awhile back and now it's completely gone. thanks a lot, LJ!

but thats okay. I had a great couple of weeks off and spent most of them in Grimsby with friends and family. on the 18th, the same day the olympic torch passed through town, I hosted the annual friends gift exchange. it was a blast and we took way too many pictures of the snuggie (now on facebook) but I'll post a few of my favourites here.

I'm trying hard to recall what everyone went home with, so here goes nothing...

- Dave: a Steam Whistle bottle opener that sticks to the fridge with a bucket underneath for catching the caps. it's actually really cute! I'm glad we took it home.
- KT: homemade brownie mix from Sarah.
- Sarah: two bottles of wine.
- Graeme: I'm actually drawing a blank here... I know kahlua was part of it, but there was other stuff too!
- Jordan 1: a sake set for two with a bottle of rice wine.
- Jordan 2: a lego christmas tree, a jar of jellybeans, poprocks, nerds and crayons (my gift haha.)

a 25th anniversary reprint of TMNT vol. one! attached to a snuggie....! from Graeme.

it was a hit with Dave from the start.

here is Dave "unwrapping Jordan's package."

everyone but Sarah ruining a nice photo? possibly.

a staring contest of epic proportions. Donnie calls on KT for reinforcements.

high fashion.

a christmas cracker chain.

Christmas day itself was quiet but we enjoyed ourselves and had a turkey dinner. Dave and my nana came over and we received calls from family throughout the day. I got some new boots, a collection of IMAX movies, gift cards, Pingu(!!) on DVD and foodstuffs.

but it soon rendered her helpless.

delicious!

we're good children.

between Christmas and New Year's Eve it was quiet. Dave and I went boxing day shopping, saw Avatar and travelled back and forth between various homes. we also went for dinner at Red Lobster aka the restaurant I could eat at every day for all of eternity. New Years plans soon crystalized and we were on our merry way to Toronto to visit Schteph and co. to (just barely) ring in 2010 at Embassy.

if you think the elevator is cramped, wait for the subway.

my outfit was kind of botched. I forgot to pack a strapless bra and hadn't touched the dress since buying it months ago. it was too big so I looked like a bit of a frump haha.

remeber what I said about the crowded subway? also, I don't think there was even one sober passenger in our car.

I'm sorry, this is hilarious.

we didn't take any pictures in the club but who cares. overall I had a great end to 2009, which was also a stand-up year. hopefully 2010 will give me plenty more to write about! with graduation finally rolling around this April and six hundred tentative plans afterwards I wish I could look ahead and see what's coming.

I'm in my first week back at school right now, stay tuned for a class review by the weekend :D

grimsby, holidays, family, life, new years, photos, tmnt, christmas, friends, lol
