my day

Today I woke up on an unfamiliar couch after some all too familiar dreams.

The couch was the couch in my friends' house and the dreams were of an unfortunate event involving two '4 of clubs's'(2x 4 of clubs in 1 deck of cards) in the poker tournament I played yesterday. My day was somewhat 'scattered'...literally. I walked outside and there was a van that appeared to be mine sitting by the house covered in an untouched coat of snow. The road was covered with a thin layer of snow as well....also untouched. Once again the city of Kalamazoo, MI was caught off guard in a surprising overnight snowstorm. Should we really be suprised though? This is Michigan afterall...or is it?

As I walked up to this familiar vehicle, it surprisingly turned out to be mine. Should I have really been surprised though? I did park it there last night...or did I?

Actually I didn't. It was my friend Cody who parked it there because he told me I'd get it towed if I left it where I left it. So this morning I got into this familiar vehicle and drove back to my apartment and noticed a van strikingly similar to my own parked in my usual spot. At this moment my mind was immediately shuffled up and re-dealt a whole new set of perceptions. I was now in a less fortunate and less comfortable situation...literally.

I was back on that cold couch with blankets that didn't reach my feet and no pillow to rest my head on. I got up off the couch and looked around the house I assumed to by my friends' but it was not actually my friends'. Surprisingly it seemed a lot nicer but still cold. So I went to the thermostat to bump up the heat a little bit and it turned out that the AC was on....which was a surpise since it is February in Michigan...or is it?

I looked outside and the sun was shining and there was no snow on the ground. I stepped out into the warmth of the sun and was immediately greeted with a couple ten dollar bills scattered on the ground. I started picking them up and reached into my back pocket to retrieve my wallet but to my surpise it wasn't there. As I stood there perlexed by the situation I noticed a wallet that appeared to be mine lying on the ground with a few more bills scattered around it. I went over and picked it up and started gathering the bills that must've somehow fallen out when it found its way into this odd situation. By this time I needed some food.

So outside of Campus Kitchen I notice a stranger in a very familiar scene. He was bent over picking up his wallet. He picked it up and checked inside. To his dismay his wallet was empty. "Have you found any money lying on the ground lately?" he asked. I almost said no but then I realized that would be a blatant lie since only moments before I was picking up four bills off of the ground.

"Yes..." I reluctantly said.

Immediately my mind was shuffled up and dealt a whole new hand.

I found myself handing over two ten dollar bills to some sort of casino dealer. Before I knew it my twenty dollars was shoved through a small slot in the table and I had two orange clay chips setting on the table in front of me...

I'm not done telling the story of my day but I must put it off until I get some rest. You should not be surprised at my exhaustion after reading the first part of my story. So...TBC. That's short for whatever three words you can think of that start with T, B, and C respectively.

So...for now I will leave you with those three words.
