"And When You Get There, Your Brain Tells You to Be Cool."

Last Monday was probably one of the best days I've had. First of all it was the day I saw the Emmys in entirely... which meant I was going to have some exercise for the first time just by jumping out of my chair out of excitement or whatever. There were a few highlights, but also the many obvious very low lows and lots of yawns towards the screen. Not going into them though, because that would be a pain in the ass to read through.

What made it a perfect day was that I went to my very first concert at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam to see Jason Mraz (first time I knew about him was on Conan's show) and Ingrid Michaelson (the one who made Conan a Conan-figure out of clay when she appeared months ago; so cute!). Both of whom were amazing!
Again, I'm not going into too much details. Earlier this year I went to a festival where Jason performed, but I was am an idiot, so I hadn't really seen him, while I was looking forward to him for months, but Monday truly made up for it. That's how awesome he was.

Low points however, I was standing behind two guys taller than I am - this gal next to me complained how the already long guy should change place with the even longer guy (so he would stand right in front of me instead of her). I was glad he said how I would complain too... I still had to shift around so I could see Jason or Toca or any other member of the SuperBand. There was a moment I could see them all in one sight; that was great.
There was this couple showing PDA all over the place next to me.
And the standing... omg the waiting. I literally stood for six hours straight - there wasn't any room for me to sit down (to wait) on the ground where I was standing - not to be able to sit that long is horrifying and I do not wish it to anyone. I couldn't walk normally after the concert was over.

Set list (just so I can remember decades from now):

The Remedy (In the Future + Wonderwall (Oasis))
Make It Mine
Clockwatching
If It Kills Me
Live High
You and I Both > Sleeping to Dream > You and I Both
Life Is Wonderful
Only Human
The Dynamo of Volition
I'm Yours (audience participation + Three Little Birds (Bob Marley & the Wailers))
-- Encore:
Lucky (w/ Ingrid Michaelson)
Build Me Up ButterCup (The Foundations)
No Stopping Us (polaroids giveaway)
ButterFry
A Beautiful Mess (solo)

Afterwards I went and bought Jasons 'Live & Acoustic 2001 (Java Joe's)' album and I originally wanted a blue Jason shirt with the cassette on it (the fans know which one I'm talking about), but they were sold out in my size - so I had to settle with the lemon light 'We Sing EP' cover head with the caption “fond of hats” - I still wubs it.

BTW, the very first thing I noticed when Jason appeared on stage was that his nipples were visible through his shirt.

Anywho... time for videos!

OK, I'm not going to post everything, if interested go to my YouTube page (username: SDuder), but these were my favorites - lots of shaking of the camera, because my eyes weren't fixed on the screen. And may I add: omg uploading videos to YouTube takes forever and go to the actual site for slightly higher quality:

You and I (an Ingrid Michaelson song during her act - first duet of the evening):

A Beautiful Mess (last song - solo // includes me handing the camera to my brother, so it wasn't me suddenly getting a better place to view the stage):

That was the last video - another new entry in a year. See you then!
