In Tents

This is the shape of things to come. And making tents inside your bedroom is fun, too!

My apartment is 97 degrees, humid and sticky.
The room air conditioner takes it down a couple notches, but strains to do so.

I took an old sheet and made it into a tent, enclosing the air conditioner and part of the middle of the room. I stapled it above the window air conditioner and spread it out into the center of the room. I braced up a couple of pieces of 2 x 2s to serve as tent poles, and pinned another sheet and some poster boards around the sides to capture more of the cold air.

The temperature inside my tent, with the air conditioner on its lowest setting is an almost chilly 75 degrees. As energy gets more scarce and expensive, inside tents will become more and more common. They are easier to heat, easier to cool, and fun, to boot.
