like most of the population, I loved The Dark Knight.

Jul 21, 2008 21:40

My weekend was a busy one and involved a visit to Port Dover, as well as seeing The Dark Knight with friends that I have not seen for weeks. I am of the opinion that The Dark Knight is AWESOME, so my opinion isn't too unique. However, I need to see it again because the last half hour was ruined by the fact that I had to pee really badly. This just gives me an excuse to see it again.

"I can make this pencil disappear" was the best scene ever. Our whole theatre reacted by jumping backwards and going "A;LKSJF; OMG". Kelsey and I also laughed hysterically at the scene in which the rabble of criminals is in the courtroom and everyone is shouting at the same time, and the guy with the typewriter is just like "..... :\ shrugs". It was hilarious because his typewriter was so tiny. idk. Kelsey and I laugh at things like that.

Gary Oldman was fantastic, Aaron Eckhart was superb (a much better Two-Face than Tommy Lee Jones, lol), Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were badass, Christian Bale was intimidating, Maggie Gyllenhaal was stunning, and Heath Ledger was beyond words. His Joker was terrifying and perfect, and I feel even more heartbroken now, having seen his final performance. I think I might be a late-to-the-party Heath fan.

And here's a meme, as I was tagged by unicornhime:

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

B) Tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.

1) Which celebrity would you like to meet and why?
I honestly do not know. Maybe Kate Winslet, because I just think she'd be a lot of fun to talk to. And she seems like the nicest person ever. Also, maybe Conan O'Brien because he'd make me rofl.

2) Which video game needs to be remade as a movie?
LEGEND OF ZELDA, AA;LSKFJ;SDLKFJ. OH MY GOD THIS WOULD THRILL ME BEYOND BELIEF.

3) Favorite Fashion Designer?
Uhh ... can we go back in time so I can say "The folks who designed women's clothing in the 30s/40s/1880s"? Honestly, I don't know. I also love men's suits, especially if a waistcoat is involved.

4) What is the city of your dreams and why?
Victoria, maybe. AHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. ♥ Oh, but they don't get snow (often?), so that'd suck. I'd also say maybe old-timey London, though I've never been (to modern day or old). Or Warsaw, if I could speak Polish. Victoria, because it's utterly beautiful and it's on the West Coast. British Columbia is a province that you need to visit at least ... five times in your life. I've been there once, and I need to go back. Preferably many more times. London because it's awesome by default, and Warsaw because I'm half-Polish and I want to visit an old Polish city. Maybe Gdansk for the same reason.

5) Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Depends on the company. With friends, I'm usually pretty extroverted. Among strangers, I'm a total introvert.

6) Who is your favorite composer?
Yann Tiersen or Howard Shore. Yann Tiersen creates the kind of music that I'd like to orchestrate my life with, but Howard Shore kicked my ass all over the place with his gorgeous LotR scores.

7) What's the most important thing someone you like has to have?
A similar sense of humour to mine and innate kindness.

8) If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Get upset, move on? idk. I have my girl, yaaaay. ♥

9) Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Myself. A cliche answer, I know, but it's true. I am not pleased with myself.

10) Do you have a good body-image?
Sometimes. There are times when I think, "I really like the way I look, yay" but I'm also extremely critical of my appearance. I don't like my zits, my gummy smile, and my cartoonish face (although sometimes the latter is awesome).

11. Is being tagged fun?
Yes! Although it also puts pressure on me, because I often complete memes and then just don't bother posting them. I'm going to try not to do that with this one. If you're reading this, I've posted it. Obviously.

12) What websites do you visit daily?
LiveJournal, Hotmail, Facebook, YouTube, MarriedToTheSea, GarfieldWithoutGarfield, and Last.fm (before it got UGLY).

13) Who are currently the most important people to you?
Laura, obviously. And my friends. And my family, I guess.

14) What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
She's extremely nice and I'm surprised that she's kept me as an LJ friend for as long as she has. :) She's one of the people whose posts I frequently look forward to. I also feel like she's one of those people that I wish I knew better, especially considering how long we've known each other on LiveJournal.

15) What song would you recommend everyone to listen to at least once?
"Maple Leaves" by Jens Lekman. I have loads of songs that I adore beyond words, but this one just pops into my mind as one that I can't imagine anyone hating.

16) What’s your favorite item of clothing?
My super-comfy-omg-the-best bathrobe. I LOVE IIIT. Sadly, it is summer and I have no use for it. I'm excited for winter just so I can wear it again.

17) What's better: to give or to receive?
It sounds cheesy, yes, but giving feels very nice, especially when you know you're giving something to someone that is received with much appreciation. That being said, I do like receiving stuff because, um, I am greedy. But I'm one of those people who desperately needs to make other people happy, so I prefer giving overall.

18) What's the first thing you notice in people?
Whether or not they seem like someone I could get along with for a long period of time. If they're even slightly nerdy, they have a higher chance of fitting into this category. I tend to feel more intimidated by people who appear popular and generic. I don't really know what to say to them and find that I have to censor myself more often.

19) Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for $10,000,000?
Only if my girlfriend gave me permission/was involved. I like money and I'd like to have some so Laura and I could live happily ever after (the only reason I'd do it would be to fund our mutual happiness), but the whole 'having sex with a stranger' thing would almost definitely have a negative impact upon our relationship, so I'm leaning much more towards the "no" side. In a contest between love and money, love wins every time. Sorry, money. You'll have to try harder.

20) What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite gender?
I have no idea. I do know that the name 'Lily' was considered for me, but it would've rhymed with my last name, which my parents didn't like. I wish I'd been named Lily, though. :( It's one of my favourite names.

I tag captain__hook, opiumgaze, elecktrik, rebel_waltz, boxseat, miss_jaffacake, bri_cheese, and irisamelia.

I'm giving Psych a try, and so far I like it because it involves mysteries and a super-observant detective with a delightful sense of humour, along with his reluctant-but-adorable partner.

movies, memes, batman, psych, the dark knight
