I am irrationally angry with Robert Downey Jr. for being on Ally McBeal in the first place.
Why?
Okay. Here me out. This is yet another reason why I am ridiculous. I view the world through rose-tinted glasses.
I never thought I'd watch Ally McBeal because Calista Flockhart irritates me slightly. But in my current phase, when I discovered that - along with having RDJ for a season - the show featured Portia de Rossi (Lindsay Bluth), Lucy Liu (one of my longtime girlcrushes), Lisa Edelstein as a transsexual (CUDDY AS A TRANSSEXUAL, PEOPLE), and ... so on, well. You see my point. I thought, "Okay I'll try it. Guilty pleasures rule." And ... k, I'm embarrassed to admit how much I enjoyed some of the episodes and characters and plot lines.
HOWEVER, I did not expect to develop a ship based on this dumb show. I did not expect to cry when Ally and Larry Paul broke up. But they had to, because Robert Downey Jr.'s drug problem interfered with the writers' plans to make him her final and perfect love interest. And I knew this before I watched the show.
This is why it's uncool to be a hopeless romantic - because you will inevitably watch a ridiculous show like Single Female Lawyer and root for a couple that was doomed from the beginning and you knew it would happen but you just had to watch anyway because of fabulously and heartbreakingly romantic scenes like THIS ONE in which Robert Downey Jr. and Sting serenade Ally together even though they're going to break up anyway and ruin everything. AND THEN YOU WILL CRY. BECAUSE YOU ARE A HOPELESS ROMANTIC SAP WHEN IT COMES TO EVERYTHING EVER.

I need to watch 30 Rock because I don't think it'll make me cry and it also has hilarious Werewolf Bar Mitzvahs.
But anyway. House and How I Met Your Mother are on tonight, and since I don't have a job right now, TV is the most interesting thing happening for me.

On a completely, completely different note, my parents just challenged my brothers to eat marmite. It's like the whole time our family had to discover, individually, how bad the infamous Sardine Muffin was.
