it is so hot
Lately, I've been lousy at being active on LJ. I read everyone's posts and all, but I don't comment or update as much. And even though I've said it countless times in the past, I'm going to try to make an effort to comment and post more. (and I really mean it this time; my current lack of activity is honestly frightening)
Right now, my older brother is in Montreal for the filming of a WWI re-enactment television programme that'll be on the CBC in the fall. He was among the few who were chosen from hundreds of people to live the life of a soldier on camera for 2 weeks. Not sure if I've mentioned that yet, but isn't it rather exciting? Justin Trudeau is there, too. If Ben gets to meet him, I will be JEALOUS.
I am currently watching Bleak House and it is remarkable in every way. The cast is phenomenal, including among its many talents Anna Maxwell Martin (Suki McCrae Cantrell, aka. eaten by the Mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxarodenfoe in The Long Game), Gillian Anderson (Scully), Denis Lawson (Ewan's uncle, aka. Wedge in the original Star Wars trilogy), Pauline Collins (Queen Victoria in Tooth and Claw), Bryan Dick (Blythe in Blackpool, aka. David Tennant's bitch), and countless others. Plus, the music is beautiful. BBC period dramas are far too entertaining. They will destroy me, I'm sure. ;_;
Meanwhile, I still need to watch the rest of Firefly, episodes of The L Word, and season one of Arrested Development. Time is not on my side. Fortunately, I have a day off tomorrow, so I'm going to watch at least one episode of everything on my list.
My family and I went to see Pirates yesterday. They liked the film but hated Norrington :( WHY IS THIS. WHY DO PEOPLE HATE NORRINGTON. He's not a villain! Just, a;ljsdf;sldfg. I'd elaborate on my frustrations, but many of you have already made excellent arguments in his favour.
