This weekend I was home for Friday and Saturday. Good times.
Friday, I went to GTC's gymnastics Holiday Show. This is where all the kids and teams do little gymnastic/dance things for the parents and people to watch and be entertained. I went cause I got to see my kids!! I hadn't seen them in like forever! They always make me smile :) I will get to see them next week too, cause I am subbing for their coach. Should be fun!
Saturday, I woke up around 3ish. In time to see U of M lose to OSU. But Iowa beat Wisconsin, so U of M still is going to the Rose Bowl. MSU didn't win either... they played horrible. Eh, so much for MSU going to a bowl game. So after I got up and ready for the day, I talked to Jessica online. I told her Mike and I were going to the Better Than Ezra concert, and she wanted to go. So went to Ann Arbor to pick her up, then went to the Majestic in Detroit for the concert.
The concert was really awesome. The Pat McGee Band opened. I was looking for their music to DL all week but really couldn't find any. So I didn't really know if I would like them or not. But, they played a really good set. They were a really good opening band for BTE. If I can't find their music to DL soon, I might just have to go to the store and get their CD. I suggest that you also check them out, they had some great songs. Better Than Ezra came on around 10:35 and played one of the best shows I have ever seen. The lead singer is very entertaining. During one of their songs, they threw in a Ms. Jackson verse, in their own little style. Very sweet. And what was weird, is that SoCo did the same thing during their concert. They also did a bunch of other half covers before, during and after their own songs. It kept things interesting and entertaining. They did I Want To Be Sedated, then went right into Sincerely, Me. Threw a verse of Nelly in another song. Started playing Night Moves for a while, then did a Tiny Dancer as Metallica would do it, so basically they just did a heavy 'yeah' at the end of each line. :-p In addition to all the those covers, they played all their hits, that everyone knows, Desperately Wanting, Good, In The Blood, Extra Ordinary, A Lifetime and more. They also announced that they had a new album finished and set to be released in March. They played a song off of it called, Daylight. It was awesome. If that song reflects what the rest of the album is going to be like, than that album is going to amazing. So it was a really fun night! The Majestic is a great small venue to see a band. The bands can play til 12:30, and there is a bar right there in the theater, with semi-reasonable prices.
After the concert I decided to come back up to State, to see a very special someone!
