I slept in until 11 this morning, and after a week of travelling, boredom, and overwork, I needed it.
I was reluctant to get up because my dreams were so pleasant. I lived in a fabulous apartment at the seaside with a very cushy couch and long white curtains and just the right amount of breeze to make them flap. I also had an adorable she-cat named Howard. Then my family came to visit, and we all got along! My father had regrown his moustache, but wasn't at all evil. He isn't evil at all in waking life either, moustachioed or not.
The only worrisome thing was a large stone beacon (not a lighthouse or the Washington Monument) that was on the shore across the road from me. It had an odd criss-cross arrangement of beams and lights across the top, and if I hadn't woken up, I'm sure I would have discovered it was a giant alien-attracting device. I recognized it from a previous dream, when I had been trapped inside it, and spied the lovely white apartment building across the street that I got to live in this time.
Oh, fictional she-cat Howard. I miss you already.
