The theme of this year's library conference is humour. One of the advertised 'hi-lites' of the conference is a humorous sketch competition, written by librarians for librarians. I, in someone's infinite wisdom, have been tapped to compose one of these aforementioned humorous sketches.
As I already have to maintain decorum/squire several guest speakers around/chair meetings/drink heavily, I was thinking of borrowing liberally from the following:

I know that "The West Indies : A Nation of Cricketers" takes place within a library, but it probably won't resonate with American audiences, even if it's really about national pride/censorship and nothing to do with cricket.
Oh, local planning committee, awkward doesn't equal funny! Just because you're laughing at me doesn't mean I'm actively looking for hilarious validation. Some of us are just uproariously unlucky.
