amazing discoveries

The past few days, I've uncovered quite a few interesting things around the house.

As much as I hate it, I do manage to maintain some level of distracted attention while shopping.

My current book and bookmark.

The same Healy portrait of a whiskerless Lincoln done two ways. I bought the book at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and the bookmark at the Lincoln Home in Springfield Illinois.

My external hard drive is very sturdy.

In spite of the little "no garbage can!" picture, I accidentally kicked it off my deskside table into the garbage can with no apparent damage.

I'd recommend a Seagate to any of my fellow clumsies with storage needs.

The future is plastics? It's bubble wrap!

Just wrap yourself in bubble wrap and head down to the planet's frosty surface. No ill effects. Spock guarantees it.

Star Trek Saturday nights are fun! I remember trying to watch the original series on Saturday mornings years ago before being sent out to swimming lessons. What a waste of time! I never did learn to swim. If my parents had left me alone with the TV, I might be an engineer by now.

I get so much free bubble wrap sent to me at the library that I could make a suit out of it for Halloween. Maybe do it freeform and be "Antique in Transit." Or do it even more freeform with a few Jiffy mailers and paper clips and be "Supply Closet."

Fine! Don't resize then! Stupid pictures.
