I can't tell where I've been

Today's temperatures were high enough to melt the rearview mirror right off my windshield.

Yow.

I'm very reliant on my rearview mirror. And not for nostril or hairstyle inspection, as is the case with my fellow drivers. I was in a spectacular rear-end collision a few years ago, and have kept one eye watching my back ever since.

It's amazing how much windshield space is freed up, though, without the mirror there. Halfway home I felt that I was in a Hollywood stunt car, the kind with no rearview mirrors to ruin a camera shot from the back seat. I only wish I'd had a Joliet Jake, Hutch, or Luke Duke along to enjoy the ride.

There aren't many Bullitt-calibre hills to run in this town, but there are plenty of straightaways.

Tomorrow is the day of resticking. My arms will be rested, my resolve will be strong, and it won't be so damn hot.

hot hot heat, cardis
