I forgot how good it feels to have all the picking up done by Friday night. It makes the Saturday morning stumble to the teakettle easier when the kitchen floor isn't strewn with garbage, and there's a clean teacup for the drinking.
I may have missed the party, but all's clean and right with the world. It's a good start to a good weekend, and what will be an even better week.
I don't know why I'm constantly surprised by the mature, thoughtful manner of the younger people I work with. I remember myself at their age. All I lacked was the cardigan, too-large car and too-small parking space and I'd be a shadow member of the Geritol Generation. As much as I whine, it's all worked out mostly as I thought. A bit off on the final latitude and longitude, but all of the half-hoped for imaginings are there.
I *am* surprised that my father has figured out e-mail and digital photography. Almost as surprised as my mother was to find that frog on her dinner plate, from the looks of it. I'm not sure what they were serving at her last Weight Watchers convention, but her expression is priceless. (Photo not included to protect the shy and stiffly coiffed).
Off to let some TV wash over me. Bright colors and soft fabrics, woo!
