I think we might have staff meetings too frequently. There was so little news that I spent more time mentally perfecting a dance routine than listening. During a training session later in the day, I designed the costumes to go with it.
If I can't focus, it must be Wednesday. Maybe a few days away would help. I hear that I can get a flight to Osaka for only $1400 if I travel before the end of June. 7500 miles, and I even get dinner. Maybe even a dinner as ritzy as
this one. Reminds me of the last staff appreciation luncheon we had at a former workplace. Management showed us their gratitude for a job well done by asking us to cook and bring in potluck items to share with one another. But they did laser printer us up a snazzy "Way to GO TEAM!" banner. I way to go'd it to a new job, post haste.
I heard today that one of my former coworkers from the old place is having major surgery for suspected cancer tomorrow. I had hoped that she'd be one of the ones to retire happily, but things don't sound very hopeful. She's one of the few people in the past 20 years to actually retire from the place. Most people have died with their boots on, were fired, forced out, or ran out screaming.
My head hurts. No amount of daydreaming can fix some things.
