Clutter

D and I keep trying to simplify. I suppose we're succeeding in gradual stages. We've moved twice in the past two years, and I guess that's helped some. D has said that we just need to move a couple times more, and then we'll have sifted through all our crap. I wish that wasn't quite so true.

I find that as I'm getting older, I'm far less attached to stuff. I actually feel okay with getting rid of most things. D, on the other hand, is okay with getting rid of things in theory, but has all that natural cheapness and lifelong instilled cultural guilt of his. He freaks out if it's something I've ever spent money on. Even if it was before I knew him (which was decades ago now). Heh.

One of the things that I have a staggering number of is t-shirts. Shirts from every concert I've been to since high school. Shirts from all the countries I've visited. Shirts from some countries I've not visited but have friends in. It's ridiculous. There must be hundreds. Many hundreds. They need to go. And yet...they are one of the few things (along with postcards) I just can't seem to ditch.

My best shirt ever was made with Sharpies by someone who was an awesome friend. How can I get rid of that?!

Eh. Maybe I'll start with the plastic Elves this go 'round. Much easier to get shot of. And there are so MANY!
