Doctor Who - The Almost People
What? WHAT? WHAT?
What the hell was that? Seriously, my mind is blown. I am now backtracking frantically, and trying to work out when and how and who knew and for how long and just...damn.
Nice switcharound from the hardass boss being the rational one, and the damsel in distress turning axe crazy. The eyes on the wall were just creepy. I mean, I got the 'gangers POV, but the dial went up to batshit insane without passing go there - everyone else seemed able to take a breath. Was the deal that Jennifer was a lot clumsier, and tended to end up squelched more? The 'People as Things/Things as People' theme worked. And I guessed that the Doctors had swapped shoes, or something. (So now he knows that Rory and Amy know something he doesn't about his future. Maybe.)
But the End Reveal. Holy crap. I was expecting a Big Reveal that the 'original' people were 'gangers, too. But that was -
Is that why the Doctor dropped them off for a while, pre-series? Did Rory know? Did he know about the baby? (Is that a baby?) Did the Doctor? Just WTF is going on?
I don't normally have time for 'helpless woman in peril' storylines, but this one is creepy and compelling and causing some serious flailing here.
