The other day me and someone else were discussing it and discovered of the top 100 read fics, only nine of them had five stars. (Or something close to that - the other person was counting, not me) So to me it says that people see a popular story and vote it down. On one hand its encouraging that you don't have to have a five star fiction to be popular. On the other hand its troubling cause my favorite WIP is five stars now. That is stressful for me cause I am terrified someone will vote it down. It had a solid 5.0 average until the 5th person rated it like a 1 or 2 or something so it was knocked down. I was so sad. But now that its back up to five stars, I worry all of the time it will get voted down.
The stars drive everyone crazy. Its so discouraging to get one starred with no review. I wouldn't mind it if people were required to review to be able to rate it. If you think my writing is a one or a two, thats your right but geez, tell me why you think so.
I keep telling Space (but she never listens) that she's a great writer. Look at the top rated stories and like she has 10 on the first two pages. Not too shabby. Plus her drabble had 10 reviews or so. So to me, thats pretty good. But I guess everyone sees things differently as far as what's successful to them. Some people are thrilled to have a 3 or 4, others want a 4 or 5. I just like to have my best stuff rated higher than my not so good (by my standards) stuff. I have noticed either the one star fairy started in on me with my Silmarillion drabbles, or else the Silmarillion fictions get lower ratings. Of course - I have no reviews to tell me why. *eye roll* Whatcha gonna do?
I wish MOB read and reviewed me as much as she did Space. So far she only likes my VV story. ;0) But I love her anyway!

Do I spot a subtle little hint here Al Darling?!?! :o)
I'm officially on my Christmas holidays as of now so once I've finished my long awaited VV chapter I'll be catching up on all my reading and reviewing. I've not been around enough to do it lately...
Seriously, I was teasing and only want you reading my stories if the topic interests you.
And new VV chapter?? SQUEEEEEEEEEE Its about time. I have a plot bunny I wanted to discuss with you about when your little friend arrives in the village. Have you already written that part?
