Birthday happiness

Jun 01, 2013 13:42

So, yesterday was my 38th birthday (yes, I'm still allowed to mention how old I am, at least until I turn 40, lol) and I'm happy to say I had a really lovely time. I received birthday greetings from more than 100 people (!), who contacted me via LJ, Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, text, or even stopped me in the middle of the street. I felt loved and appreciated, which is a feeling I hardly ever get these days, so that made me even happier. ^^

I offered pastries to my colleagues and customers, and was offered lunch in return. I received many nice words and virtual gifts (one even with a Beatles song, which I particularly appreciated), a lovely bunch of flowers, a range of scented bath products, some home-made biscuits & chocolates, and even a cookbook. To top it all off, hubby took me out to a little Persian restaurant in Lecco (a nice town on Lake Como), where we had a fabulous dinner with some local friends, followed by a midnight stroll along the lake to help digestion. All in all, it was a FABULOUS day, for which I'm really grateful.

I apologise for not having been able to answer all the messages one by one, but they were too many (not that I'm complaining!), so now I'm sending out HUGS and THANKS to everyone in a collective message of appreciation. I have amazing friends all around the world and I'm a very lucky person for that.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!
