Yay! New stuff!
Hey, look what was waiting for me when I got home from some errands this afternoon!
I only ordered them from the Globe Theatre online shop a couple of days ago and here they are already. I love the Royal Mail!
This is partly a tribute to Roger Allam's magnificent performance as Falstaff - which I missed in 2010 when it was originally on, but luckily has now been published on DVD - and partly to celebrate the fact that I'm going to London in a month's time (if I survive work until then, that is) and I have tickets for The Globe to see The Taming of the Shrew.
It's my first experience at The Globe and I want to enjoy it in full, so I'm now reading the book in advance in order to memorise the best bits, helped by the fully-dramatised audiobook, which incidentally also stars the usual suspect Roger Allam as Petruchio. As you can imagine, this is a double pleasure for my ears, because William Shakespeare's comedy + Roger Allam's voice = wordgasm!
In other news, today I was hunting for a good pair of new trainers among those that were on sale, but couldn't find anything I liked, so I decided to fork out a bit more money than originally planned and bought myself these, instead.
My first pair of Chucks! ♥ How have I managed to live without them until now? They're awesome!
After all the excitement, I seriously need some rest now: I've had a really busy day at work and I'm dog tired, having slept an average of 4-5 hours per night for the past week. My lovely bed is calling me like the Sirens to Ulysses, and I can resist no more. ;)
