Hi there, guys! Still remember me?
No, eh? I thought so. :(
I know, I know. In spite of all my promises to be around LJ more often this year, I've been a bad blogger and haven't written a single post in months. Mea culpa. *sighs* Truth is, RL and work have been absorbing most of my energies, so much that I've barely had any free time at all. Working weekends + festivities and not having any fun are making me grumpier than ever, but these are the joys of being self-employed in these times of crisis and market craziness, and there really is nothing I can do about it but soldier on and hope in less hectic times. I've also been busy moving all my work-related stuff to the new headquarters, but the move is still only halfway through due to some server-related technical problems and a bit of unavoidable red tape, so I'm currently running around like a headless chicken trying to manage my work from two different places, while at the same time teaching my new assistant the gist of the job so that she can manage the office while I'm away on business trips and such. Luckily, she's a fast learner, but there's only so many hours in a day, you know.
Health has not been the best either, although my GP says that most of my little ailments - namely anxiety, high blood pressure, palpitations, dizziness and insomnia - are just stress-related problems and could therefore be easily avoided if I took care of myself a bit better and worked less hours. Well, thank you, Doc. As if I didn't know that already!
I really could use a little holiday right now, though, at least before my brain melts down from excessive use of my bloody neurons and lack of sleep.
Today, after a particularly stressful week, I finally decided to take one day off (it's a Saturday, dammit!) and have some 'me' time at home, so I took a nice, hot bubbly bath and caught up with some Cabin Pressure and Sherlock fic I'd memorised some time ago for later reading. I also may or may not have listened to some NC17 Sherlock podfic (!) aloud on my laptop while I made the beds, prepared lunch and did the washing up. Hubby was away all day and luckily no-one else in the house understands English, so I could listen to them without blushing, hehe! My day was definitely better after that. ;)
Going to bed now. Too tired even for typing. I guess that taking the day off relaxed me enough to attempt a full-night sleep. Wish me luck, guys. God knows I really need it.
Love to all. TTYS.
