Yesterday Erik decided to NOT nap. By the time we got home from Walmart at 830 he was over tired and on a second wind. After spending two hours trying to put him down Michael brought him to bed. BIG MISTAKE. I think it was a nice way of saying "Honey, it's your turn". So I humored Erik for a few minuted before taking him back to his crib. I tried to get him to lay down and fall asleep, but he it didn't work. So I layed him down, closed to door and set myself down on the loveseat in the living room. After about 2 minuted he was asleep. I think he knows that Mommy means business.
I think Erik might be ready to potty train, or at least the beginning phase of it. He's been saying "Da-bu" for a couple of weeks and I thought it was 'diaper' but he said it at funny times so I wasn't sure. Last night we went out for dinner and as usual Erik took over one of our drinks (it was my raspberry ice tea but I mostly got it for him) and he drank A LOT of it. After dinner we went to Walmart and he peed so much that it leaked out of his diaper. He kept saying da-bu. His pants were falling down because they were a bit big and he was trying to push is diaper off, too.
He's scared of the big potty so we might buy him his own potty even though we both loath the idea. We can buy one that turns from a little potty into a little seat for the big potty and stool to help them get one so I think we'll go with that (I want this one so he can poo in the pooh chair
