Today has been good so far. I woke up when my alarm went off (615) and even though Erik woke up around 645 he was contented to play in his crib for half an hour. Now we're eating breakfast.
Tomorrow is my birthday (the big 24!!). My Mom sent me the cutest pair of diamond earrings. They are small (probably 1/4 carat) but are perfect. They twinkle in my ears very nicely. And, naturally, like my emeralds, Great Gramma's pearls and black pearls I'm scared to wear them for fear of losing them. But it was a sweet gift. She wanted to buy them last year but for whatever reason couldn't.
It's amazing how much Erik eats in the morning. It's like he stuffs himself with cheerios, tops off at lunch and only snacks at dinner. He eats a man sized bowl of cereal. Goes along with his man burps and man sized dookies.
Michael is going back to the night shift (4 PM until 4 AM). He's already happier and it's not until next week. He has also changed his day off rotation which means that my c-section will be on his 'saturday' instead of his 'monday'. The day before is the day that he splits and he'll be taking the first half so he'll be off at 10 PM on wednesday (plenty of time to wake me up for a late night snack and pretending to sleep until 6 am). I think he's taking 9 days of leave. I should be feeling pretty good by the time my Mom comes down so we can maybe do a couple of fun things while she's here, like the park or the zoo or whatever.
