Angsting in Prison

[Sitting curled up with his head on his knees, Quatre is beating himself up for what he has done.]

[Private, but totally hackable because of his current mental state.]

How....How could I do something like that?  It was bad enough that I destroyed that one colony, but to attack my friends?  They even tried to reason with me, but I was just too ( Read more... )

Quatre! Kira will be fine, trust me...if he wasn't, I could never forgive myself either.

As for you, I'm just glad you're alive. Everyone is. But what happened?

Do you mean what happened after the mission where I self destructed Sandrock, or with what I did in space? Both are sort of complicated stories.

Well, I do have time for both, I think.

I'll start with the mission a couple of weeks ago. Sandrock was badly damaged and wouldn't make it in time to the carrier that was there to retrieve us. And the others might not have noticed, but the enemy was firing at the carrier and would have shot them down if I didn't so something. So I decided to self-destruct to destroy the enemies and give the others a chance to escape.

I was planning on going down with Sandrock, but for some reason when I activated the self-destruct sequence the hatch to the cockpit opened. It almost seemed like Sandrock was telling me to survive, so I got out and managed to sneak onto a nearby shuttle that was taking off. From there I made my way to another city and went back to my home colony so I could rebuild Sandrock. I also went back to space because that's where OZ decided to take their war to, and I felt I could do more to stop them if I followed.

But once I got back to my home colony, I found that the people there were actually in favor of OZ. My father opposed OZ and the idea of joining the fighting, and went to stop them from having access to one of my family's resource satellites. OZ and the colony decided it was better to blow it up, so they ended up killing him.

I swore that they would pay, so instead of rebuilding Sandrock I built a different Gundam that I found the blueprints for since it had more power. What I didn't expect was the pilot system being so powerful. The ZERO System literally took over my mind, making me think that everyone and everything was my enemy and nothing would change my mind.

The ZERO System, combined with the power I got from Grahf, was just too much. It took Kira almost sacrificing himself to have me come back to my senses.

That's all incredible!

That ZERO System sounds like a terrible thing. Why did you build it? Or more importantly, why did someone design it?

Well, at the time I thought it was just an advanced piloting system. I didn't know what it would do to me until it was too late. As for who designed it, I don't know. But now I know why it was never built in the first place*

Hmm...yes.

Could the T-Link System do something like that?

But regardless of all of that, I'm glad you're back safe! I...thought you were alright. Even after that mess in Jaburo, I didn't really think you were dead. I'm just glad it turned out to be true.

I'm really sorry to have worried you all.

You don't have to apologize for something like that.

I know Heero showed up again during the mission; did you happen to run into Duo anywhere? He was...captured by OZ, apparently. They said they executed him, but if you came back to us safe after what happened to you...

No, I didn't see Duo at all. But I wouldn't be surprised if OZ lied and Duo shows up somewhere soon.
