three thousand seedlings
just a quick note to gloat;
i planted my personal best yesterday -
three thousand trees in one day!
a little pine forest
doused with love, fragments of QOTSA lyrics
and maybe a few random nuts from
a spilled bag of trail mix :)
i am one sore and tired botz today...
that's a lot of bending over, it is!
but wow, i am so totally proud of myself
three thousand seedlings
in an eight hour day
i feel like i've graduated into a new stage
of my planting career.
for breaking 3K my foreman bought me a case of beer,
of which i drank one
and promptly fell asleep last night :P
zZzzZzzzzZzzz
was struggling a bit at the start of this contract,
we did a bunch of intense helicopter work
with long days of rain and hail...
15 hour days ain't worth the 4 minute chopper ride!
my feet are *krezzi* swollen,
so i have to wrap them both in tensor bandage
all boxer-style...
geEeZ, so hard on my poor l'il body planting is.
everyone's got their planting OWEY - back, knees, shoulder...
mine is my foots, for sure
these last few shifts... whOoof!
such a tough mental game
but yesterday was the day planting poems are made of,
and today i am encouraged, charged and ready
to take the block by storm again :)
gotta see if i can start clearing 3K a day ;P
another week or so and we get some time off
in between spring and summer contracts
(just in time for summer solstice!)
so looking forward to a five day vacation.
found "autobiography of a yogi"
at a used bookstore for $2...
wow, crazy read. am sharing it with one of the boddhisatvas here,
so we trade back and forth every few chapters.
havin' quite a spiritual journey here,
especially with geshe michael's spoken word loaded onto my IPOD.
