Christmas is a time when people of all faiths come together to worship Jesus Christ

I arrived safely at 3:20am yesterday morning. Traffic was good except for the area around this g i a n t shopping mall about 15 miles south on I-95. Sheer volume of shoppers caused me a 25-minute delay. No accidents, just volume. Blar.

My brother is around. He's trying to convince me to go to Disney World. We've got these old 4 day passes with a few days left on them and they're non-transferable. We bought them in '92 and I'm not sure mine is still valid. I was a child when it was purchased so...

Unwrapped my presents. Nothing spectacular. My mom has grown tired of shopping for us and had checks in addition to the a few typical presents. I spent last night setting up their home network (my present to the parents.) I was having a bunch of trouble getting the USB 802.11b network adapter working. I spent two hours fooling with it before it started to work properly. I don't know exactly what I did to fix it but it started working at Midnight exactly. Santa?

Christmas just isn't a big deal to me anymore. I'm not as materialistic as I once was and I'm not, well, Christian anymore. Go figure.

I'm looking at this New Year's eve as a deadline, at least partially. I'm going to have a working draft of my short story "Do You Remember?" finished and post it here. If I don't have it up by the second you have my permission to bitch at me. I've been working on it on and (mostly) off since September or October. I'm re-reading Amy Hempel because it seems to improve my style and makes me want to write more. Of course going back later and comparing my stories to hers make me feel horribly inadequate. But that's ok, even Chuck feels the same and he's written some great stuff.
