Nothing big to report. Just a few odds and ends I've been meaning to mention. Like the Dictionary.com word of the day for July 30:
sesquipedalian \ses-kwuh-puh-DAYL-yuhn\, adjective:
1. Given to or characterized by the use of long words. Instantly makes my top five favorite words in the English language because in order to use the word, "sesquipedalian" you have to be sesquipedalian. What other word works like that? That is awesome.
I don't actually have a list of my favorite words, although maybe I should. Top five definitely includes sesquipedalian and
spoonerism... I've always been fond of
onomatopoeia. The many uses of the word, "fuck"
as noted by George Carlin, also very impressive. What else???
Bought a ticket to see Rise Against at the House of Blues this November. $32 ticket, cost me $46.60. What the fuck? $11.60 to buy a ticket online. What's the profit margin on that got to be, like 1,130%? Plus a $3 facilities charge? Well, I guess it's better than putting turnstiles in front of the bathrooms but... still don't seem right.
I've been working out with a personal trainer lately. Too late to win my weight loss bet I think but still not a bad idea. The training is good I guess. He worked me until I puked the first time. Mostly I think I need someone who's gonna be pissed at me if I don't stick with it. And for what the amount of money they charge, I'd be pissed if I lost that business.
Wednesday I wanted to go see Pineapple Express. But Kurt was working so alright I'll wait a week. So I watched
the Grand off Netflix instead. Wow, Phil Gordon's commentary was almost the best part of that movie. That's not a good thing. Although the two times I got a good laugh my abs were sore enough that I was kind of glad I didn't see Pineapple Express.
