having a lovely time

So after much debate i decided to spend a few more days in tokyo. Right now I am in sendagi (just north of central tokyo) and being put up in a sort of communal dorm that ryans friend chika lives in. Its really cramped and it costs a dollar to take a hot shower (but not to take a cold one...just one of the many tricks theyve figured out here to stretch your fukuzawa further) but its been really pleasant otherwise. The people here are really friendly and we all made dinner tonight. One of the larger, heartier members of this group was a pretty competent cook and whipped us up a little eggplant beef curry. all 8 of us ate in a room with 6 seats and the air conditioner on full blast, awaiting the typhoon that was supposed to pass through here around 9pm...but didnt. Its been really nice and if i had the money i wouldnt mind burning my 2 months here at this place..*sigh*.
As for mihos wedding, it was just wonderful. I dont know why but it really just made me happy to see her getting hitched and happy. And she looked really good, I was really overjoyed that her day went so well for her. I always thought for some reason her and daiki were an especially appropriate couple. Afterall, who could possibly stand up to the might of miho? No, one must bend like a reed, like a willow...like a daiki! Justin and I wept like little girls and had a fabulous time. At the afterparty miho gave me a biiig bear hug and I threw her a few ebi chili since apparently shouldnt hold a plate of her own in her kimono. That was the highlight for me I think. That and when we came back to the suzukis I found that they had changed the background on their computer and it was a pic of the 6 of us...miho,masako, me, justin, otou, and okaasan. I really should put it up somewhere.
