My parents came to town this weekend, which was an unexpected, but very nice surprise. Indeed, it definitely helped take the edge off an otherwise stressful week.
They were in town for three days, only one of which I got to spend with them (Saturday), but that's ok because at least I got to see them. They were so sweet about all the drama of this week - they cooked for me every night. Saturday was especially nice because I got to spend it with a large group of family over a better meal than I've had in awhile.
One thing that I am discovering as I try to bounce back from this week is that in order for me to really be able to make it in LA, I need to as Carmen called it, do more "Sarah-things." I was spending so much time doing entertainment, LA things and none on the things that truly define me or make me happy. So whether that means I make a career out of theatre or at least work crew in my spare time, theatre is something I definitely want to go back to.
The other thing I need to work on is finding a crew. I don't really have a group of people that are a support system for me out here. I have people out here that I hang out with here and there, but I still haven't made any really good friends.
That's a tall order: find a job, theatre, friends.
