If I had the energy of a three year old, I'd rule the world

My parents and I went to my brother's granddaughter's second birthday party yesterday. It was held in a community hall which had lots of space, an opportunity not to be missed by the birthday girl's three year old cousin. She and a little boy ran all over the hall. And ran. And chased each other. And ran. And skipped. And then ran. And laughed. And squealed. And giggled. And then they ran.

I got exhausted just watching them. *g*

My brother sat down with us at our table and, as per usual whenever we have a few minutes to just sit around and talk, we went into complete geek overload. We talked about computers - hard drives, memory, monitors, internet access, memory sticks, external hard drives, wireless peripherals, our ability to launch a global nuclear warhead from our laptops. Then we talked about movies - Star Wars, Batman, War of the Worlds [new] (he's going, I'm not, because, ew, Tom Cruise), War of the World [old] *loves*. And then we talked about retirement and retirement portfolios. My dad laughed on the drive home saying that he loved listening to us talk even though he hadn't a clue what the hell we were talking about. :)

I'm currently watching disc five of season two of Queer as Folk, and I think I'm tired of it a little bit. I think I need to change my queue around a little bit and watch something else next weekend.

It's frelling *hot* here again. I just wish the milder temperatures would hang around longer. We seem to go from too cold to too hot too damned fast. If I ruled the universe, June temperatures would be a temperate 76oF the entire month, and um, 50oF at night.

I'm thinking of changing my lj layout. *sigh* Goodbye, Spike. :(
