Pawn of Prophecy (Book 1 of the Belgariad) by David Eddings (a re-read for the umpteenth time. One of my favorite fantasy series

i loved the belgaraid

Yeah, it and the Malloreon were just terrific. Unfortunately, I haven't liked anything else Eddings (and wife) have written although I did manage to get through his next series, The Elenium. It was okay, but it didn't grab me. I didn't like the stand-alone Belgarath book at all because it looked to me like he did a lot of retcon in it, which I hate! I didn't even bother with Polgara. And I couldn't get into any of the other series he (and wife) wrote at all.

I'll have to check my library to see if I even bought Polgara. I may have before I got around to reading Belgarath. Maybe I'll give it a chance, but I'm leery.

Oh, ahahaha! Yeah, I loved all the characters in the book, even the evil God Kal Torak. Okay, not Ce'Nedra so much. Polgara was great, even though I often sympathized with Garion with how she kept in in the dark about who he was, and kept throwing that brat Ce'Nedra at him. LOL
