Book snobbery
So, I'm curious and want some opinions.
When it comes to 'classic' literature, should one only consider books that would be included in, say, an English lit class, or would one also include genre classics?
And what kind of genre classics? Verne or Wells, ok, but nix to Chandler or Hammett?
And what makes a classic a 'classic'? Who decides this? At what age does a good book become a classic?
