Why does the weekend go so darned fast! Saturday was a beautiful day. Warm and sunshiny. Yesterday we had a short storm. And thereby hangs a tale.
My JT is terrified of storms. Terrified! I had let the boys out yesterday to enjoy the weather before fall hits with a hammer. J usually just hangs out on the patio soaking up the sun which is what he was doing yesterday. I leave the back door open a bit so the cats can come in and out as they please.
I started watching a new cooking contest show on the Food network, Sweet Genius, which is a Chopped-like show only with desserts. And can I just say those were the most unappetizing looking desserts I've ever seen. Ew.
Anyway, I was watching this new show, and it finally penetrated my brain that I was hearing the rumble of thunder. I looked out the window and saw that it was starting to rain, and knowing how much J hates storms, I immediately got up to see if he was okay. T was still outside on the patio, stretched out on the chair totally relaxed in spite of the rumbling thunder, but J was not to be seen. I brought T inside and shut the door, and went looking for J. For the next fifteen or twenty minutes I ran from room to room, upstairs and down, looking for J. Now my place isn't that big, but I could not find him anywhere! Thinking he got really spooked and ran off instead of into the house, I went out in the pouring rain with my umbrella and walked up and down the alley calling for him. The rain was coming down so hard, I could hardly hear myself over the pounding on the umbrella. I couldn't find him outside so I came back in the house and searched all over again. No J. While I was still frantically searching and calling, the storm abated, I turned around, and there was J in the hall. /facepalm
Honestly, I have no idea where the hell he was hiding! I looked under every piece of furniture high enough for a cat to hide under. The only thing I can think of is that he had wormed his way so far into my bedroom closet that he was totally invisible. Silly cat. Scared the heck outta me.
In other news, I watched the first episode of the new The Amazing Race. Yay, it's back! So far I don't hate anyone, but I'm sure that will change rapidly. LOL I don't care about Survivors Ethan and Jenna. I didn't watch their original seasons, and only saw them on All-Stars on the DVD. I know a lot of people over on the TWoP forums didn't like them. Anyway, I doubt very much they'll be as polarizing as Romber.
