Today is West Virginia's birthday, and since I work for the guvment, I get to celebrate by doing absolutely nothing. Or rather by doing my laundry and catching up on some of the tv I'm behind watching including the last two episodes of Game of Thrones. Once I watch them, I can put the book into my 'to be read' pile.
I forgot to mention in my post last night that Saturday was Vet Day, in that my boys got taken in for their annual visit. Both got glowing reports, the doctor oooohed over T's ear tuffs again. (*g*), and the boys weight in at: JT (the older one) at 12 lbs. 15 oz. TJ (the younger) was 13 lbs. 10 oz! It's the Maine Coon in him. He's long and sleek and solid so he looks thinner than J, but weights almost a pound more. Anyway, she told me they were going very well, their teeth looked great, and I was going a good cat mom job. :-D
Watched the new show, Falling Skies last night and it wasn't bad. Good enough I'll probably watch at least a few more episodes to see if it really grabs me. One thing though, for Stargate fans, one character showed up with long, stringy hair, and I kept thinking 'that guy looks familiar. who is he?', so I went to IMDb and it was Colin Cunningham who played Major Paul Davis on SG-1 and Atlantis!
Oh, and speaking of the boys, one of my co-workers adopted a cat from the county shelter a few months back, and in an effort to be nice, I asked if she'd like to borrow one of my cat carriers to bring him home in. After much hemming and hawing because she just cannot make the simplest decision right away, she did. So I brought it in to her and made a point of telling her that I had scrubbed in out completely with bleach cleaner and washed the little blanket I keep in there so that everything was clean and sanitary for her and her new cat. Cut forward about four months, I get the notice from the vet that it's time for the boys's checkups. I make the appointment and then tell co-worker that I'm going to need my cat carrier back. She has no problem, and brings it back the very next day. HOWEVER, I could tell that she had not bothered washing it or the little blanket out, and THIS after she'd taken her cat to the vet several times for ear mites and worms! Now I don't know if they could have been transmitted to my cats from the carrier, but I would have thought that to be polite you'd clean out the damned carrier! Needless to say, I didn't bring the carrier inside until I'd scrubbed it out thoroughly. Since she hasn't yet bothered to buy her own carrier, even after I offered to order her one from Petco.com when they were on sale and I had a 25% discount coupon, I hope she never asks to borrower one of my carriers again.
