And another room bites the dust

Got the dining room cleaned up and out this weekend. I was absolutely ruthless in the weeding out of stuff, and my car was packed full with things to donate. I know I could probably make some money if I had a yard sale, but it's really not yard sale weather yet (it was off-and-on rainy all weekend), and so to do that I'd have to put the stuff somewhere, and then haul it out for people to pick over, and the haul the stuff not sold to the Salvation Army anyway. It just isn't worth the hassle to me, plus I want all that shit out of my house. I'm tired of all this stuff I neither want, use, nor need cluttering up my house.

Now all that's left is the kitchen and laundry room. And when the cleaning is done, then I'm getting my new stove and fridge, and probably calling in the contractor to see about the remodel I've been dreaming of. Or vice versa.

It's funny how I feel a huge weight off my shoulders just with the cleaning out I've been doing. Some of the stuff I've gotten rid of I haven't looked at in quite literally years. Last night on TLC they showed a bunch of episodes of Hoarding: Buried Alive, and while I am nowhere near as bad as those poor people, I can understand how your stuff can come to own you instead of you owning stuff. I do have a bit of a pack rat mentality, and I'm trying my damnedest to get away from that. It's working; slowly but surely. At least for now.

cleaning up is hard to do
