So, now I think I'm going to buy a new stove and refrigerator. The ones I have are nearly 30 years old. Yes, that old, and the stove is horrible. It's electric and the burner coils don't lay flat and the broiling element has burned out. I don't want to waste money on replacing it. The fridge is okay but the fridge door is starting to not seal properly unless I slam it shut, which means it's just become a huge energy suck. West Virginia is going to do the Cash for Clunkers for energy-star rated appliances probably next month, so what the hell. I'll get $100 back from Uncle Sugar via Uncle Joe Manchin, so I might as well take advantage of it since I need a new refrigerator anyway. I just hope whatever I buy doesn't die a horrible death after only a couple years. It seems to me that all the new appliances being made anymore just suck ass.
I got my living room cleaned, and boy am I glad I've lost some weight because the getting down and getting up to clean floor-level stuff would have done me in otherwise. But except for behind the entertainment center - which I cannot move - everything is cleaned and vacuumed and dusted. I also threw out a pile of old VCR tapes that I taped shows on. Most of the shows I already have on DVD, plus the quality on most of them wasn't that good to begin with. I have a bunch more I need to trash, but I'm trying not to make my G-men go on strike against my house. LOL
Next up, the dining room, and then onto the kitchen, and finally the laundry room. I fear the kitchen. I really, really do. :-{
general blather,
cleaning up is hard to do
