I guess I'm going to have to update my Who icon.
I liked it fine, although the story was just so typical Who (Earth in peril from wacky aliens) that the plot was pretty much a yawn. Anyway, it was mostly used to introduce Matt Smith as the new Doctor and Karen Gillan as the new Companion. To be honest, I liked young Amy more than adult Amy, but I guess they can't have the Doctor buzzing around space and time with a little girl so they grew her up.
I was very much of the mind that Matt was going to have to win me over, and he did a fine job. By the end, I was content with him as the new Doctor. Sure, I'll miss Tennant, but that's the way of Who. You either move on or you give up the show. The previews looked interesting. And did I see a Blink angel? If so, I'm not sure how I feel about that because I love that episode so much, I don't want to see it cheapened by overfamiliarity.
As for the new intro - I really like it. I loved the wormhole effect a lot.
So all-in-all, good start to the new series. I'll be back next week.
