Another Saturday night...

Just finished watching the Dr. Who Easter Special. It was a good episode, but to be honest, not the best one I've seen. Mostly because I didn't care for the 'companion'. The actress wasn't very good, in my opinion, and she appeared to have only one facial expression - a smirk. Hopefully, she won't be back again.

On the other hand, the next episode looks like it's going to be terrific. Anyone know when that one's going to air?

In other news, I read Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez today, and it was cute. Two guys, a vampire (Earl) and a werewolf (Duke), stop at an all-night diner so that Duke can get a bite to eat. They arrive just in time to help the diner's manager, Loretta, fend off a zombie attack. Taking her up on her offer to pay them to lay a gas pipe and find out where the zombies keep coming from, they end up stopping an apocalypse.

The story is humorously written. At first I thought a bit too cutesy, but it grew on me, and by the end I was ready for more of the boys' adventures. The way the story ended, I'm sure there'll be more to come.

All in all, it was a fun, quick, light read.

ETA: After checking Amazon, it appears that while Martinez has written other books, none feature Earl & Duke. Oh, well.
