He was just shy of thirteen when he began to realize that he was different, and it frightened him. Especially since he came from a family that equated 'different' with 'wrong'.
Luckily, it wasn't that hard to hide the truth. He was a big boy, always had been, and so playing rough was easy for him. When he put on his football uniform and smashed his way through the opposing line, he knew no one would ever suspect.
But when Xander discovered he was gay, for the first time in his life, Larry realized it was okay to be different.
