Well, for me, it was spent, once again, lost in the world of Hidden Object games. I bought the third in the Mystery Case File: Ravenhurst series, and this one is just as great as the other two, and in some ways superior. The other games had timers - you only had so much time to complete the level. Which is fine, except they have puzzles at the end that you have to complete in the time left in that level. The first game you could manipulate that by going to the puzzle first so that if you had problems and wasted too much time, you didn't have to repeat all the scenes to get to the puzzle. The second game, the puzzles were always at the end of the level, and if you didn't have enough time to figure it out and complete it, you had to start all over again. That was kind of frustrating.
This third game though is without time limits, which is good. Also good is that it has a real story and you have to find certain objects that you carry with you to use to complete other puzzles and tasks. I carried one object with me for hours before I finally used it. It some ways the game is like an RPG/Hidden Object hybrid. And since RPGs are my video games of choice, this just added to the fun. Some of the puzzles were fairly easy, but most of them took a little while to figure out. I could almost feel my sluggish synapses start to weakly fire as I actually used my brain for more than deciding which tv show to watch. *g*
For once, I was happy with the winners of The Amazing Race. Color me shocked. On the other hand, I'm pretty close to giving up Survivor. I think this has been the worst season I've ever watched. There's only one person left that I even half-way like and he's probably the next to go. When he does, so shall I.
I'm been staying away from all the Christmas/Holiday ficathons, but
velocitygrass has sucked me into signing up for
"John/Rodney-It's only just begun...", a post-SGA McShep Fest that's going to start January 10. The purpose of the fest is: ""John/Rodney-It's only just begun..." is about celebrating all the stories about these two that are still waiting to be told, all the art that is waiting to be made, all the memories and thoughts that will continue to be shared (now that TPTB can't screw it up anymore."
I signed up for January 12, which is my birthday. *g* So everyone who writes/does art/meta go sign up. We can celebrate the fact that John and Rodney are now ours and the bad people can't hurt them anymore. :-)
