I hope all the moms and children of moms had a great day yesterday. My brother, sil, and I joined my mother for a luncheon hosted by the nursing home, which was lovely. My brother wondered if they have the same kind of thing for Father's Day, and while I sure they do something, the fact is that probably 98% of their residents are women, so I'm sure it won't be on that scale. After I put my mother down for her nap after lunch, I went home and finally got my grass cut after being too lazy to do it on Saturday.
I have a fic rec for y'all.
sunnyd_lite wrote a wonderfully funny post-NFA fic for me as part of the
Welcome Back to the Hellmouth Ficathon entitled
Electric Company. Go, read, and prepare to smile if not laugh outright.
I'm attempting to work my way through the master list of fics. Unfortunately, though I'm not terribly busy at work today, and I could possibly sneak in a fic or two, my browser here at work seems to hate the entry on
kellyhk's lj and keeps freezing. Stupid work computer.
I didn't watch Blood Ties last night (and missed recording the first fifteen minutes because I forgot to set my VCR) because I was watching the finale of Survivor.
I was disappointed in Earl that he voted against Yau-Man though I certainly understood that that was the only way he was going to win the million dollars. Still, Yau-Man was without a doubt my favorite contestant, so I was very sorry. I will never understand though why people kept trusting Dreamz. He proved himself over and over again to be unreliable and a liar. Yau-Man was foolish to trust him, but he was also wrong to use the car in the way he did, so that came back and bit him on the ass big time. Perhaps if Yau-Man hadn't made that deal, he would have hung on in that last challenge and won immunity. We'll never know. The final tribal council was just as ridiculous as they always are. It never ceases to amaze me that the very same people who tricked, lied, and deceived get all indignant that they were tricked, lied to, and deceived.
Did you all see where CBS is starting a new reality show on Thursday, May 31st?
Pirate Master. Pirates. OMG, I hate myself so much but I'm totally going to watch that. And not just because of the pirates. Jesus, they have
another hot Australian as the host. Move over Phil, there's a new boy in town. *g* Somehow, whenever I see the promo for this series, I keep envisioning Rupert. He'd love to be on this show, I bet. :)
