The Salvation Army's Commissioner Todd Bassett receives a salary of only $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization.
Now I'm not knocking Ms. Evans or Mr. Gallagher; I believe the laborer is worthy of his reward. However, if you want more bang for your buck this holiday season, please consider giving to The Salvation Army. And please remember that even though you gave generously for the hurricane relief efforts, there are people in your own area who also need assistance.
