So, for those that haven't been following the news, Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers, and in retaliation Israel has been bombing the living shit out of southern Lebanon and even bombed Beirut. These bombings don't seem to be directed towards Hezbollah, but simply to fuck Lebanon. They bombed the Lebanese airport, bridges, power plants, and ( Read more... )

That made me giggle because it made me think of Andrej's letter to Kristin's mom.

it reminds me of the hold man in herbs who apparently took huge offense to the lusitania t-shirt.

It's also surprising to see how many people can do beautiful things for no real reason at all other than to help someone. Do people deserve some sort of karma for what they do? Yes. Is it our place to wish it on them? No.

My name is Wyatt by the way.

yeah -- it is. and i always think that those people deserve to arrive home to a letter in the mailbox from an old friend, or get free brownies. i don't believe i have an assigned 'place' to wish or not wish anything. i guess i am a bit disillusioned when it comes to jerks, and i'd LIKE to believe that everyone is good inside and sometimes they're just misled, but after encountering so many people who honestly think it's funny to ruin someone else's day, i really start hoping they get hit in the face by a suddenly-opened door.

i'm malloreigh. :) nice to internetmeet you.

That's understandable, people can do some pretty crappy things sometimes. I don't want to give the impression that I'm saying people are inherently good either, just inherently human. However, I do believe that everyone has good in them, and nurturing that good is the best way to rehabilitate someone.

Nice to meet you too. I have a friend named Leigh, and a friend named Ashleigh. Malloreigh will be a welcome addition to the collection. :-)

Hey Wyatt it's Jimmy,

I realize this is delayed but I've just now read this post and thought I'd mention: Dina, my goodest friend, has just returned from a trip to Palestine with Global Exchange. You can read her thoughts and findings concerning Palestine and the Israeli Occupation at http://dina-jacir.livejournal.com/
