I should probably tell Andrew that I have frequent fantasies wherein he is the leader of a guerilla army fighting the good fight in Central America and I am his second-in-command and medic for the group.
Actually, most of the reason for my maybe going to med school is to go into the third world and help people there in the most immediate way. Although other careers (something political? something nonprofit, but not just working for them, actually getting people to finance/ start them? is there any way at all of extricating America's democracy from its capitalist corruption, because I'd like to contribute but to me it seems impossible).
Thoughts? Ideas?
