FINALLY saw True Grit last night... I loved it.
I got everything I wanted out of it, and more. Jeff Bridges was an amazing Rooster Cogburn, and he's still larger-than-life. There was even a line about things not abiding, and I think I was the only person who laughed at it.
I would never have guessed it of the Coen brothers, but they also know how to tug at the old heartstrings, which surprised and even delighted me.
Now, all that being said, I wouldn't say it was, you know, high art or anything. Just an awesome movie.
