I'm sitting outside on my balcony yoinking an unsuspecting person's unsecured wireless internet. It's nice to know that there's one person not smart enough to secure his/her wireless. Ah well--I'm not complaining, especially since I was having difficulties acquiring DSL from AT&T since I was lacking a landline. At least I'll have that next week, and then interenet thereafter. I'm moved in, I got the last of my crap from home, and today I'm taking a break from organizing and unpacking to look for jobs and get applications. Unlike the last time I went job hunting, EVERYONE is hiring. So it seems promising. There's this one place that's an educational play center that has one opening for part-time help, and I'd be all about working there. One's supposed to ahve a degree in order to be employed there, but the woman I spoke to said that since I was workint towards my degree that I'd probably be good to go. There's also a pottery place across the parking lot from my apartment complex that I'm looking into. But for now, unpacking and my scanning job will have to suffice as far as killing time goes. My apartment isn't bad, and I've only had a couple of issues with it thus far; mostly because it was built for GIANTS. Geo can't even reach the top shelf of the cabinets in the kitchen, which is lame because there's no storage in the kitchen at all; luckily my dad found a nice bookcase in the trash somewhere that I painted and is being used to store groceries. As a result of the apartment being built for giants, the doors are really high, which makes my multitude of over-the-door hangers almost useless; the air conditioner is also uber-high up--I can barely reach it standing on a chair. But luckily there was only one major appliance malfunction, which was promptly fixed the day after I moved in. When we were moving me in my mom was amazed that there were so many different people living here--she refers to it as, "the united nations." Although, she is kind of right, seeing as I've only seen a couple of caucasian people, and the rest being either asian, mexican, etc etc. My neighbors are very much Mexican, and don't even speak English (from what my mom told me; she tried to talk to the little girl). Well, it's getting very windy, and my connection is fluctuating between "very low" and "disconnected." So I'm off.
