So I'm 21 today.  Nobody's apparently able to show up for the fire, so I guess it's cancelled.  Apparently we're going to to out to eat instead, but that really isn't a substitute to me.  I wake up today (around 10:15) to discover that apparently my car's assorted minor fluid leaks have been due to the coolant system, power steering reservoir, radiator support frame, et cetera, are all apparently irrecoverably rusted out and my car needs about $3000 worth of work.  Why I wasn't informed of this when my car was in the same place three months ago is probably not worth thinking about right now.  So the bottom line is my car is undrivable and I'm lucky my radiator didn't fall out while I was out last night.  I'm getting sick of people not telling me things I need to know until the last conceivable minute, especially businesses.

I need to go get a properly-sized picture for my FOID application.  Everything else is set to go for it.  I thoroughly despise the gun laws (among many other things) in this state, but at least I can still own a gun.  I just can't carry it concealed, carry it openly, use it in self defence, or probably mention I have one in a lot of places.  Could be worse, though.  I just wish I could afford to actually buy a decent gun.

What I could probably get soon, though, is a good radio to exercise my FCC-granted abilities.  As per my standard of communications equipment being small and portable enough to carry on foot, I've decided to try for a Yaesu VX-7R.  Plenty of capability between that and my others to keep in touch pretty much anywhere on the planet.

Anyway, what else... building a bunch of stuff.  Tons of parts to obtain.

School going well.  Trying to finish up Virtual Light so I can focus on Johnny Got His Gun for school.  Liking my classes a lot.  Schedule seems to work out pretty well.

Today, relaxing and tinkering.  Tomorrow, concert downtown.
