(no subject)
So yesterday we relaxed as Robert and I are pretty exhausted by the trip to the beach. We cleaned up the apartment a little bit, then headed out to find Taylor a birthday present. We got Emily a drawing set that had Hello Kitty on it (as we missed her birthday) so that she would be the envy of her sisters. And we ended up getting Taylor a cool magic set that he was super psyched about. Michael wanted to get him a listening device, but we figured that would be a bad idea with a parents' room and his sisters' rooms so close. Kip thanked us that we didn't get that. I also picked up the cutest pair of strap on sandals I have seen in a long time for the clearance price of $6.99. And at TJ Maxx (where we got Taylor's magic set) I found a neat pirate game called "League of Pirates" for the clearance price of $3.00. It had been marked down like five times. It's pretty neat!
Anyway, then we went over to Kip's for the birthday party. Kip had taken Desiree to the hospital cause she hurt her knee, so April asked us to come over early to help set up. Turns out that "setting up" was having the kids clean out the living room and the front room. Anyway, I had a killer headache cause my prescription needed updating, so I vegged on the couch while Robet and April got things together. Emily loved her present and WAS the envy of her sisters. April ordered the motherload of pizza from Pizza Hut and a couple of Taylor's friends came over for the party. The four boys - Taylor, Sean, Stevie, and Michael, were playing Smash Brothers Brawl on the Wii and loving it. Mikey was last every time, but he didn't seem to mind it much at all. I ended up getting really nauseated and so Robert took me to lay down in his old room. I ended up falling asleep for about an hour after he gave me some pepto bismol and cool water. I didn't move the whole time, but when I woke up when he told me the Pizza was there, I felt much better, though I did have the remnants of a headache. I was super happy cause I really didn't want to be a party pooper. Anyway, the kids had their pizza and Taylor opened his presents and had cake and everything and they played some more on the Wii and had a great night.

And then there is a little self-indulgence. Hey, I got bored while the kids were playing. Also, a couple pictures of us at my brother's wedding.
Today, had breakfast and went out to the mall so I could get my eye exam and stop having headaches. Well, the lights all the way down to the mall were out. Needless to say, people don't know how to drive. And upon arriving at the mall, our worst fears were realized - they also had no power. All the shop people had drawn down their gates and were waiting for power. I walked in the optical place for a card to call them later. We decided to go eat at this place where they sell pretty good but inexpensive chinese food. Michael had lo mein and eggroll and I had lemon chicken and robert his chicken chow mein. It was really tasty. They called us from the mall to tell us the power was back on so I went and had my examination, which was quite expensive considering I didn't purchase insurance from my company.
Then we went to purchase heartworm medicine for the dogs, to see my old friend, another General Manager, and to Robert's work so his boss could meet Mikey. Then we went to go see Kung Fu Panda, which was really well done, although short. Then we came home and Robert made hamburgers for dinner and we had the favorite/least favorite foods discussion during dinner. Now the boys are playing a snowboarding game for the Xbox. Thankfully, it will be bedtime soon.
