I just-LOVE-Jean Harlow SO MUCH. So much. It twists my stomach up and makes my eyes tear and my heart beat and I want to giggle with joy.
I rented Red Dust; I really don't like the movie that much, but HARLEAN! Harlean, you make my heart sing. She's just... so... guh. Darling. Adorable. Charming. Seriously, when all I'd seen was the ( Read more... )

Oh yay! One I haven't seen! After saying that I realised there were a bunch of early ones I haven't seen yet, including the Laurel and Hardy one where she ends up in her undergarments.
Gosh, this is so exciting. And I'm excited about The Blonde Bombshell, cause I've never seen that either. For some reason I really like bio-pics like that.

I HATE it when people put modern PC standards onto old movies!
I've gotten really defensive about a lot of the old movies I love (like Red Dust) because some of my friends are just appalled by them (ex, the characterisation of Hoi/Hoy) which is tacky I guess, but, you know. It was the thirties. I'll agree that they weren't up to today's standards but for god's sake let me enjoy my movies!

And you're using your Jean icons. *gushes* She's just such a doll. Oh the love.
Hey, have you read the David Stenn's biography? I got it from the library, but someone had ripped out the pages with the pictures they liked and so it was patchy... I loved it though, it had some juicy details Eve Golden's biography didn't have. And it's out of print now, I haven't been able to find a copy. :(

Of course I have both David Stenn's and Eve Golden's Jean Harlow biographies! I got them both when they first came out.

The only Harlow movies I need to see are Beast Of The City, The Secret Six, Platinum Blonde, and Suzy.
